Summary

Chapter 33

Miles takes the bus to the liquor store by the beach in hopes of finding Simon Tolliver. He waits for hours, but he knows not to give up because the voice is talking to him again and telling him this is exactly where he needs to be. Eventually, the white Ford Explorer pulls up to the curb. Miles doesn’t have a lot of time. He climbs into the car and hides under a tarp in the back. He checks his phone and has two missed calls from his dad and one from Eliza. He’s sure that his parents are going to be angry, but they’ll quickly forgive him when he brings Teddy home. He silences his phone and grabs a wrench just in case.
