Chapter 25 Summary
Rix, Attia and Keiro continue to travel through the tunnel, sloshing through the dirty water beneath their feet. Rix pulls out the glove and says he's going to put it on. Keiro tells Attia he's going to kill Rix. At the end of the tunnel is a gargoyle spilling water out of its mouth-blocking them from going any further.
When Jared wakes up there is no stable. He only sees a scorched circle where a fire might have been at one time. Jared thinks he is delirious from his illness, so he doesn't know reality from illusion. He injects his medicine into his vein and takes his pulse. Jared rides his horse for a long time, heading toward the wardenry. He stops at a farmhouse to rest, but the farmer warns him that trouble is brewing because of Claudia and Finn claiming he is the prince. As Jared continues on,...
