Chapters 6-12 Summary

In chapter 6, Wolf tells Mark about his first wife, Maggie, and how her pregnancy forced him into marriage and a commitment he was not sure he was ready for. On the day that Maggie went into labor with their child, there was a car accident that resulted in Maggie's death. Wolf, who had been driving the car, was found sitting in a restaurant eating a hamburger. To this day, Wolf cannot remember the day and a half before the accident or the accident itself. Mark asks Wolf what he plans to do now and he admits that he intends to return to Los Angeles. However, when Wolf is finished doing what he needs to do, he intends to return to Santa Fe and face the music. At this point, Mark recommends a lawyer and Wolf asks him to call the man...
