Chapter Two Summary

Ford jots down the registration number of the boat tied in a small cove on Tequesta Bank and checks for another hidden boat somewhere; he finds nothing. He travels to his neighbor Jessica McClure's home, his woman friend with whom he often chats. Unfortunately, she's on the way out the door with her ex-boyfriend Benny, Benjamin Rouchard, who has flown in for the weekend. Ford leaves her home and heads straight for Dinkin's Marina. He sees Jethro Nicholes there. Jeth tells him about a party of doctors who are in town for a convention and are looking for a good party; he wants Ford to come. He asks why Ford looks so odd and Ford tells him he's been drinking.

As he leaves the marina to return to his house, Jeth talks about Ford with MacCauley, the marina manager. They discuss...
