Summary

Alia and Atef are at home in the evening waiting for Souad to come home. It is getting late and they do not know where she is. Souad and Alia had had a fight over Souad messing sugar everywhere, which had caused Souad to call Alia insane and storm out of the house. Atef knows not to say what he is thinking: that Souad and Alia are exactly alike. Atef and Alia have been worn down by both of their daughters but for different reasons. While Souad is ungodly and reckless, Riham has become very religious and is not married to an older widower with a young son.
