Summary

In chapter twenty-two, Tyler drops Layla at Will's house. Layla hears laughter as soon as she enters the house and discovers Eliana's parents are visiting. Layla feels that she's intruding and prepares to leave but Will stops her. Layla reveals that her feelings were hurt terribly by Will's decision to put distance between them. Will says he was wrong and was trying to protect Layla. Will's grandmother greets Layla warmly. When she says she'll go home so they can spend time together, Will's grandmother objects, saying she has to get to know Layla. Layla and Will have some more time to talk. Outside, Will sees the man with the camera, who is driving the same black sedan Layla saw at the mall. Will approaches the man but he drives away.
