Chapter 18

Nest Freemark gets herself together and leaves the church. She finds John Ross and tells him what happened with the demon, and asks why the demon wants her. John says he does not know, but she can tell he is lying. Nest goes back to her grandfather, but hopes to talk to John again. However, she is unable to get him alone during the fellowship after service. She believes that John is probably her father. She and Old Bob return home, and Nest tells her grandmother about her vision. Mel Riorden calls Old Bob and tells him he is worry about what Derry might be planning. He asks Old Bob to talk to Derry.
