Weeks go by and Molly does not hear from Polina. Recalling that Polina has told her once that she had a lover a professor in the English Department she decides to go to his class. She is appalled by what she sees; the man, Paul Digita, is a homely man with bad oral hygiene. Nonetheless, Molly approaches him after class to tell him how much she enjoyed his lecture. Clearly pleased, Paul invites Molly out for tea. They spend nearly two hours together, most of which is consumed by Paul's lengthy monologue of his life. He asks Molly if he can see her again, and she agrees.
Meanwhile, Polina, with the help of her psychiatrist, decides that Molly being a lesbian should have no effect on their friendship and so she calls.....
