As the family makes their way to their new home in Florida, Molly learns about the difference in the way black people are regarded in the south. Carrie warns her to not speak to black people unless absolutely necessary and even then, she is to be polite and respectful. Molly suggests that perhaps her birth parents are black, a remark that angers Carrie.
Shortly after the family arrives in Miami, Carl finds a job as a butcher. Not long after, Ep finds a job as well, but since it is located in West Palm Beach, he, Leroy and Ted move into a trailer there. The two families visit on Sundays.
When Molly starts school in September, she finds that there are two distinct groups of students: the rednecks and the kids who have.....
