In Santa Croce with No Baedeker-- The next morning at breakfast, Miss Bartlett and Lucy get into a polite argument about what to do for the day. Lucy wants to go out and explore. Miss Bartlett is feeling unwell and thinks it's wrong for Lucy to go alone. The argument goes around in circles until it is interrupted by Miss Lavish, another guest at the Pension.
