The war council nominated Kratas to replace Tanus as commander of the army. Kratas refused the post and instead nominated Memnon. Memnon was twenty-two years old at the time of his promotion to Great Lion of Egypt and commander of all its armies. The Prince sought Kratas and Taita's help in planning the return to Egypt.
