Summary

In Chapter 57, Sunny impetuously decides to go on a hunger strike like those in jail. In Chapter 58, Sunny discovers that Vidella was arrested, which is why there is nothing cooked at her house. Sunny stays part of the night at Polly's, but feels the need to go home in the middle of the night. She and Gillette talk briefly. He asks if she has ever talked to Raymond and she admits she would not know what to say. He says he would say, “Good catch,” and Sunny believes Gillette has the right idea (425).
