Scene 13 Summary

Carol says that she feels lonely and cheated because she didn't have a father, adding that she doesn't want to be friends but wants a father, war stories and everything. She forcefully asks whether Bernie thinks she's entitled to that, and he agrees that she is but says it's important they accept each other as they are now and not hold onto the past in any way. Carol asks whether he's working that night, and Bernie says he never works Sundays, adding that when he was asked to cover for someone who was sick, he said he couldn't come in.
