Bernie welcomes Carol into his apartment. He tells her that he would have recognized her anywhere. He feels like a racehorse, and that, if he were still a drinker, that he'd offer her a drink as well. He adds that if he still drank, she probably wouldn't be there and expresses the hope that she's not going to call him "Dad."
