Chapter Thirty-two Summary

Miriam and Paul argue again about Angel. Paul continues to insist that Michael should get over her because she never loved him, and Miriam continues to tell Paul that it was Paul who didn't ever get to know Angel.

Meanwhile, Angel is still living with the Axels, becoming close friends with Susanna, but still missing Michael and hoping he is okay. She has been going to church with the Axels, and at one service finally listens to the urging she feels in her heart, and receives God's mercy, publicly giving her life to Jesus. After this service, she has a long conversation with Susanna about her uncertain future, and Susanna helps Angel discover what it means to give something up to God, how to pray about it, and then let it go.
