Chapter Twenty-three Summary

Michael and Angel are alone in Joseph's store, and Michael tells Angel that he knows she loves him and that that is why she left. Angel tries to deny it at first, but then confesses that she does not want to love him because she doesn't deserve his love. Eventually she gives in to the hope he gives her and goes home with him. At home, they continue to live and work together, this time more in love than ever before. Angel also opens up in her friendship with Miriam, only to learn from Ruthie that Miriam and Paul have been arguing about.....
