Summary

Part I is titled City of Love. Chapter 1 is titled “Collision in Paris.” Magnus Bane, an immortal warlock, is on vacation with his new boyfriend, Alec Lightwood, who is a Shadowhunter. Magnus has been to Paris many times during the 400 years of his life, and there are some bad memories here. However, he is determined to make this into the perfect vacation, his first trip with Alexander Lightwood, known as Alec. Alec is writing postcards to send home to his family and friends. Magnus thinks about how difficult it was to plan the perfect trip to show Alec around Europe. He could not call on a travel agent for help and planned the entire thing on his own.
