Summary

Part 4, Reaper: Chapters 34-44

Chapter 34

Darrow is sick for a month. He slowly becomes aware that he is being nursed by Mustang. When he is finally coherent, he hears her humming Eo’s song. Mustang tells him she heard it on the HC like everyone else. They hunt and live together, discussing the competition. Mustang tells Darrow that he lead his people wrong. Mustang uses Darrow’s hands to show him how he should have treated each member with respect because an army cannot work without all its members working together. Mustang says the Society is like a hand, too, Darrow agrees, but thinks it could function better if more consideration is given to each level, including the lower Colors.

Mustang becomes ill. When she is delirious with fever, Darrow has to leave her to hunt for food. When he spots...
