Part 3, Gold: Chapters 20-27

Chapter 20: The House Mars

Darrow is overwhelmed with guilt after killing Julian. Darrow knows that he did what he had to do, but he is now afraid of what might come next. He leaves the room and wanders through a hallway until he comes across other students. They all walk to a large room that is medieval in décor. Darrow cleans up and dresses before hiding in a storage room. Roque, another student, finds him and suggests that what has just happened was Societies way of reducing the weak members of the Gold elite that did not die naturally at birth.
