Part Three, Pages 174 through 212 Summary

Min arrives in Shanghai and calls her mother who is glad to see her. The family dinner that evening is somewhat strained. Coral is worried because she doesn't want to be sent to the country to a farm and the family must have at least one "peasant" to fulfill the Party's policy.
