Summary

Chapters 14-26

Kate: November 26. Kate intends to go straight to Amelia’s bedroom when she gets home, but she is sidelined by an angry phone call from Detective Molina, the detective who investigated Amelia’s death. Molina is angry because, unbeknown to Kate, Jeremy called the police commissioner and complained about the investigation. Kate tells Molina about the text messages.

Kate finally goes to Amelia’s room with the intention of finding something that will tell her if Amelia committed suicide or not. However, Kate is overwhelmed with grief when she goes into the room for the first time. Kate’s friend, Seth, finds her in the bedroom. When Kate explains what has happened, Seth agrees to search Amelia’s room while Kate goes through Amelia’s backpack downstairs.
