Part 1: Chapters 3-4 Summary

In chapter 3 of part 1, Bruce has dinner in a familiar section of the hotel that has been transformed into an elegant restaurant. Bruce feels the breeze come down from the mountain and it brings to mind nights lying out on the grass in Joe Mulder's backyard. As he eats, Bruce thinks of his early years in Salt Lake City.
