Chapter Thirteen (Jason) Summary

Debra calls Jason's house looking for him. When he doesn't call her back, she stops by his locker at school. It's been two months since homecoming, and Jason hasn't called her once. The two start talking and Jason feels a strong urge to come out to her. They've been through so much together and despite the fact that he broke up with her, Debra is his best friend. Bravely, Jason tells Debra that he's been so distant because he's trying to figure something out: he thinks he might be gay. Debra is shell-shocked. When she hears this, Debra starts screaming and punching Jason in the chest. She shouts that she hates him and threatens to ruin his life.
