Section 10 Summary (245-284)
This section starts with Lucy and Jack Eccles discussing Janice's actions. Lucy asks where Rabbit was, and Eccles replies that he has to find out. Lucy expresses disgust, and Eccles defends Rabbit, saying that he loves him. Lucy attacks Rabbit, accusing him of killing the baby by causing Janice's bender. She adds that Eccles should never have brought them back together. Eccles is surprised by how "vengeful" his wife is acting, and asks if she thinks he killed the baby. She says no, but he says she is probably right.
Eccles tries phoning Ruth but gets no answer. Lucy apologizes, and Eccles tells her he got Rabbit and Janice back together because he believed marriage is a sacrament. Lucy asks if that applies to bad marriages. When he says yes, she accuses him of being psychopathic. Rabbit soon calls, wondering if Eccles knows anything about what is happening at his...
