When Rabbit awakes he is confused and feels like the voices he can hear are hunting him, but soon realizes he is hearing the voices of men downstairs. Tothero soon returns and tells Rabbit he has arranged a double date. As he gets up Tothero tells Rabbit that he has arranged some females for them, and Rabbit becomes suspicious and tries to leave.

Tothero stops him by telling him that they are "two of a kind," but is unable to explain why this is so. Rabbit asks about Janice, and Tothero asks if he wants to go home.
