Summary

Lizzie takes her homeschool exams, and though Elvis is not allowed to help her, she does notice that Lizzie makes a lot of mistakes on her exams. After Lizzie completes the exams, she teaches Elvis to play poker, a game she learned at St. Cloud's. During one of their games, Soda shows up at the house. He wants the Jesus statue back because he wants to put it in an art show. He does not have the seven hundred dollars that professor Babbitt payed for it, but he offers to take Elvis and Lizzie fishing. Lizzie thinks Soda is handsome, and they agree to his offer. The sisters think Soda is taking them to the ocean, but he instead drives them to the Silver Sand Motel and Marina on Lake Guntersville. He helps run the motel with his uncle, and takes the girls...
