Chapter Four Summary

After his dinner with Mary Crane, Norman storms back to the office in search of a drink. Even though he told Mary that Mother forbade him to drink, he keeps a bottle of whiskey in his desk drawer for just such occasions. He closes all the blinds, turns off the "Open" sign, and takes a long pull from the bottle. He remembers going upstairs to tell Mother that a young woman would be joining him for dinner.
