When Grandmere notices how tired Mia is again, she lectures her on not leaving herself open to other boys besides Michael. She goes on to say that the way to truly land a boy and keep his interest is to pretend as if you are disinterested. Grandmere tells Amelia to read Jane Eyre to see how men and women relate to each other. Mia just keeps counting the days until she sees Michael again. As Mia predicted, Jane Eyre is extremely boring.
