Section 3: pages 38-51 Summary

In "Thursday, May 1, My Birthday, Algebra," Josh has asked Lana to prom, and though one of Mia's resolutions is to be nicer to people, she wants to stab Lana with a pencil because Lana is practically gloating about prom. In G & T class, Mia praises Michael for sitting with her at lunch and bringing her favorite meal. She realizes something is going on because Michael made sure that Mrs. Hill is still in the teachers' lounge and Boris came out of the supply closet before the bell rang. In French, Mia writes about how Michael's band showed up in the G & T classroom to play a song Michael wrote for her, "Princess of My Heart." Later, Mia writes in the ladies' room at Les Hautes Manger that she is having the best birthday ever. Her parents are getting along...
