Chapters 16 through 18 Summary

In chapter sixteen, Hildebert is the first to notice that Ben has become slimmer and Ben assumes it's a combination of her hard work while held by the Drachensbett army and the isolation of her double. Ben insists that she be allowed to join Sophia who is handling matters of the ruler's business that day rather than attending her dance class. She finds Sophia talking with a man about the possibility of Drachensbett's army crossing Ancienne. Ben suggests having a group of Montagne scouts check out the man's story and they return a few days later with news of the trail left by the Drachensbett army while they were holding Ben captive. Sophia immediately begins plans for a huge wall to keep the invaders out. Ben is so busy with learning about being a princess and using her knowledge of herbs...
