Summary

Chapter 5 is told from Aria’s point of view. She went to the first day of class thinking about Ezra, the guy she had made out with. She really liked him, and had even texted him a haiku in the middle of the night. She pulled out her phone to see if he had responded yet, but then she looked up and saw that her teacher, Mr. Fitz, was the guy from the bar. She looked down at her phone and saw that she had a text from a strange number: “Surprise! I wonder what your pig puppet will have to say about this… —A“ (55).
