Part 3, Outside: Chapters 24-31 Summary

In Descent, Tally drops from the balloon and figures out how to guide herself to the river. However, the magnets on the hoverboard connect with the mineral deposits in the river too late and she lands so hard in the river that her board is destroyed. Tally manages to pull herself out of the river and find a somewhat dry place to sleep for the night. However, she is concerned about reaching the others and worried that Zane might be alone and in trouble.

In Alone, Tally figures out that she is about a weeks walk from the Rusty Ruins where she was to meet up with the Crims. This concerns Tally because she is afraid they will think she was killed on the fall or chickened out. Tally begins to make her way through the woods...
