Chapters 23 and 24 Summary

Nick is at his desk trying to figure out a loophole to get Lisa out of the home. he pulls Jimmy and Lisa's file. When he sees the picture, he realizes the girl that drove off in the truck with Stella is Lisa.he grabs his keys to drive back to the home to make sure Lisa is safe.

Nick uses the story of a lost Mont Blanc pen to return to the home. he spots Stella and Lisa on the playground. He briefly looks Lisa over and talks to her, even though Bill says her name is Susan. She looks unabused for the moment so he goes to leave. As Nick is leaving, he notices the two boys he left in the foster home the night before are at the home. bill confirms that Sheila Axelrod dropped them off.
