Summary

In Chapter 19, Ismae feels sick from her pregnancy and finds blood in her underwear. Grandmother tells her to lie down and elevate her feet, but when Wasik gets home he finds his wife unresponsive in a pool of blood. She miscarries and in the hospital the doctor tells Wasik Ismae is in a coma. Wasik wonders which god his wife’s fate has been left to. A nurse calls Thema and she arrives at the hospital. She wants to spit in Wasik’s face, but decides to call Serafine and tell her the truth instead.

In Chapter 20 at the shrine, the other girls realize Aymee is getting fat. Nana tells them Aymee must be pregnant, but the knowledge is terrifying and traumatizing for Aymee and the younger girls. Abeo becomes enraged and accuses Nana of lying about Aymee’s pregnancy just to be...
