Summary

In Chapter 10 Wasik feels his life is collapsing. A water pipe breaks in the Kata's house, the alternator in his Mercedes dies, the file on Wasik is destroyed in a housefire and the investigation has to start all over again, leaving Wasik without work. He starts drinking every day before noon. Agwe gets sick and although the doctor prescribes antibiotics, he still has to be hospitalized. Grandmother wonders when her son will believe that these misfortunes are all part of the curse.

Wasik finds Abeo in her room reading Little Red Riding Hood and they discuss their mutual love of Michael Jackson. At the end of the chapter, Wasik asks Abeo if she would do anything for the family. The question makes her uncomfortable, but she says that she would.
