Summary

In Chapter 26, Rakel and Harry plan for a June wedding. They decide to have a small gathering of witnesses rather than a huge party. Now Harry sets off in search of a best man. When Rakel indicates she thinks Oleg should not be best man, Harry contacts a childhood friend who begs off. So Harry turns to Beate, but because he cannot reach her by phone or at work, Harry decides to stop by her house. He finds the door open, the house in order, but no sign of Beate. After searching the house for any clues to her whereabouts, he sees the garbage truck out front, picking up heavy black bags from Beate's dustbin. He stops the truck before its steel jaws can crush the bags and their contents. Harry finds Beate's carved up body parts in the black bags.
