Summary

Xiomara knows that she and Aman cannot go to his house, so they agree to meet in a so-called “smoke park,” a place where people go to smoke marijuana. Xiomara is excited as they sit together, especially as they casually brush up against each other. The city hides them, allowing Xiomara to spend time she would not get with Aman otherwise because of her mother’s strictness. Xiomara has some clear ideas about the kind of man she wants to date. She does not want a man who was once promiscuous like her father. She does not want a self-involved man who worries about his looks or is too caught up in being an athlete.
