Pippilotta Delicatessa Windowshade Macrkelmint Ephraim's Daughter Longstocking is the title character of the book. Every chapter title includes her name and adventure. She is an orphan who lives by herself at Villa Villekulla, a house her father bought for retirement. Her father fell overboard at sea, and her mother died when Pippi was a baby. Pippi lives with her animals, a monkey named Mr. Nilsson, and a horse. She lives off a bag of gold. She has a unique appearance with red hair in braids, a patchwork dress she made and large shoes. She meets brother and sister, Tommy and Annika, who live next door with their parents. Tommy and Annika adjust to Pippi's unusual ways, although she gets them to do things they would not normally do. She likes to tell stories about.....
