Chapter 9 "Pippi Goes to a Coffee Party" Summary
Tommy and Annika's mother is having a few ladies over for a coffee party. Since there is plenty of food, she asks the children to invite Pippi. The siblings rush to Pippi's to invite her. Pippi is watering flowers. Tommy points out that it is raining. Pippi says she was looking forward to watering, and that is what she will do. Annika tells her about the party. Pippi is so happy she wets Tommy instead of the flowers and hopes she can act right. Annika is sure she can. Pippi says people have accused her of misbehaving, but things were different at sea. She says she will make them proud of her. Tommy and his sister go home. As she leaves under her umbrella, Annika tells her it is at three this afternoon. At three, a nice-looking girl arrives at the Settergrens' house. It is Pippi, whose hair is down....
