Chapter 5 "Pippi Sits on the Gate and Climbs a Tree" Summary

Outside Pippi's house, Pippi, Tommy, and Annika sit on the gate. It is a nice day at the end of August. Because Villa Villekulla is in a lovely area at the end of town, people enjoy walking there. A girl walks by and asks the children if they have seen her father. Pippi asks if he is medium sized, with blue eyes and black clothes. The girl says yes. Pippi says they have not seen him. Disappointed, the girl leaves. Pippi loudly asks if he is bald. The girl says no. Pippi says that is good. The girl tries to leave, but Pippi asks if he has large ears that go down to his shoulders. The girl says no and questions if Pippi has.....
