Summary

In Chapter 10, Jam tries to send Redemption more messages, but none go through. Bitter and Aloe say Jam has to finish dinner and go to bed and that she can talk to Redemption the next day. Pet promises to take Jam to Redemption. She goes to bed, then Pet teleports them both inside Redemption's house. Pet makes them both invisible so they can watch what is happening. Jam feels that spying on them is wrong, but Pet counters, saying that it is not helpful to think of right and wrong, but to focus on “the thing that needs to be done” (160). They watch as Redemption seems to be trying to decide what to do. He starts toward the living room where his three parents are, then changes his mind and goes to Moss's room instead.
