Part 1: Chapters 8-10 Summary

In chapter 8, the longer Thor is gone, the meaner Patty Jane grows until she begins to lash out at Harriet and Avel. Avel brings in a college roommate who is a successful therapist, but Patty Jane shames him before sending him away. Patty Jane tells everyone she might be depressed, but she does not need to talk to a therapist about it. At the same time, Harriet and Avel go forward with their wedding plans, purchasing a wedding dress and planning their honeymoon.
