Patriot Games Characters

Jack Ryan

Jack Ryan is the protagonist of Patriot Games. He's a former Marine, and current instructor of history at the American Naval Academy. Jack has done a little bit of work with the CIA in the past, garnering the attention of Admiral James Greer, who recognizes the young man's brilliance and analytical mind. Greer believes him to be prime CIA material, however Ryan has resisted the invitation. While in London, Jack finds himself embroiled in a ULA plot to kidnap the Prince and Princess of Wales and their infant son. His injury and actions gain him undesired notoriety, and he becomes a character of great interest for the ULA, especially Sean Miller. Ryan's interest in the ULA continues after his return to the states and he arranges for a temporary assignment at the CIA in order to evaluate and analyze what they have on the ULA....
