Chapte 22, Procedures Summary

The discovery of the gun at the quarry excites the FBI. They go to investigate the scene thoroughly, knowing that finding anything new is unlikely. They are seen leaving the site by Alex, who recognizes the vans as being from the FBI. He has studied police procedure and his mind immediately runs through the potential risk of their activities at the quarry. He realizes that the gun has probably been found and they must now discard what they have and get new guns. After evaluating the situation dispassionately, Alex believes they are in no danger of being identified. Ryan is working to make some connection between the gun and who bought it.
