Jack Ryan's first day back teaching history at the Naval Academy and his forty third-classmen pay close attention to his lecture but have no questions when he is done lecturing. Rather, one of the students comes forward to present Dr. Ryan with an award, named the Order of the Purple Target. Their advice is that when it happens the next time he is to duck.
