Chapter 13 Summary

Queen Arnive is vexed that the squire will not reveal his errand nor will Orgeluse tell her the name or lineage of the knight who won the adventure at Schastel marveille. After waking, Gawan frees Lischois and Turkoyt for Orgeluse's sake, then sits next to Itonje and tells her that King Gramoflanz is in love with her and is coming to offer his services to her. He also bestows the ring from King Gramoflanz upon her, and when Itonje admits that she loves King Gramoflanz in return, Gawan offers his assistance in the romance, though he does not tell her they were born of the same mother. After a fine feast at Schastel marveille, the company dances as Sangive and Arnive sit quietly with Gawan, and they, along with Orgeluse, ensure that Gawan is comfortable during the night.
