Summary

Chapter Thirteen begins five months after Max and Olivia met where Olivia finds Max trying to make a pie. She admits that she is not optimistic about her business because potential clients keep turning them down. Max asks if Olivia wants to go public with their relationship and admits he wants her to join him at events. Both feel that their relationship is real, and Max believes that only a few people will care about the relationship. However, Olivia worries because she is Black, so she asks for more time.
