Survival of the race

More than a decade has passed since the release of the RM virus that wiped out the majority of the human race. In that time, not one single baby has survived more than a few days. The human race is effectively dying off, and it seems there is little hope that a cure will be found. While doctors have conducted research and continued to search for a clue to helping a baby survive, the government has enacted the Hope Act - a law that requires women age eighteen and older to become pregnant as early and as often as possible. The hope is that someone among the immune humans will give birth to a baby who is also immune. As the years rock on without a surviving baby, the government lowers the age to sixteen.
