Chapters 9 through 12 Summary

In chapter nine, Kira asks Marcus for a sample of his blood and says she plans to find a cure for RM. Marcus is skeptical, saying that others have worked for more than a decade on the subject and he can't imagine how she's going to do more than they have. She admits his words make sense but remains focused on the goal. Isolde arrives from her workday at the Senate and says the government is implementing border checks for everyone coming and going. Kira says it will be impossible to monitor the entire border, but Marcus agrees they should try. Isolde says the belief is that the Voice is trying to cause unrest with the citizens in order to bring down the government.
