Pages 43-90 Summary

Facts are tossed in that seem to have very little relevance to the story. Paddy picks up these facts while he is reading things to impress his da. Later on, the facts are usually used in an adventure that Paddy or Sinbad are involved in. In this section he spits out this fact on page 44 - "The life expectancy of a rat is 18 months." Then the story skips over it and they go to school. Later in the book, the boys discover a dead rat and give it a proper Viking burial.

Paddy wants to be like Father Damien, who is a great and respected religious leader. He even goes so far as to make Sinbad pretend to be a leper in a colony, which Paddy will save. His da gets angry.....
